Volunteers
Volunteering at the Commonwealth Games is a fantastic
opportunity to get involved. Volunteers will provide a key
element of our workforce across a wide range of jobs. Although many
of the jobs will be of a very specialist nature including
timekeepers, communications experts, doctors, judges and many more,
there will also be a number of opportunities for people with less
specialist skills.
Not only will our volunteers have a great time contributing to
what we plan to be an outstanding Games, everyone will
also take away from their time with the Games a tremendous
legacy of experiences that will last in their memories as well as
enhance their personal skills.
In line with one of the Commonwealth Games core values of
equality, we will be looking for volunteers from all walks of life,
regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation and from all
locations.
Anyone who wishes to apply to be a volunteer will have to
undergo a rigorous assessment process and must be willing to commit
to a certain amount of time both leading up to and during the
Games. The details of this process will be posted on this
website when we start the volunteer recruitment process in early
2013.
In the meantime, you might want to see if volunteering suits you
by trying it out in a school or community setting. If it does, we
look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of
luck.
